Closing a Week of Heartbreak, Weekend Programing 10/13-14/2023

It's been a heartbreaking week of grief, outrage, dissonance & yearning. Keeping it short, I pray this email finds you with some ease. After engaging my own shock, I spent the last few days in their entirety reaching out to individual friends and family in Israel, in Palestine, in the US and Europe. Bearing witness to brokenness, those in living nightmares, and their striving towards resilience. Consider reaching out to a Jewish, Israeli, Palestinian Muslim or Christian friend, a simple "I am following what's happening and thinking of you. How are you?" goes a long way. It lets folks feel seen, less alone. I have plenty of more stories to share in length another time. I was touched by many of you who reached out to me. Your care communicates deeply and I pass it to all those with whom I come in touch.

I am setting up some last-minute events this weekend to be in silence, prayer music, and verbal-sharing together. Please feel welcome to join or pass to those you think may be interested.
