Ancestral inquiry & connection
Rami has engaged extensively with Holocaust-related grief and trauma. As the executive director of Zen Peacemakers International, he has organized and co-led the multi-faith multi-day Auschwitz-Birkenau bearing witness retreat; accompanied families on their visits to ancestral homelands, homes and to concentration camps, in-person and remotely; informed by training as chaplain and deployment with present day refugees. He creates containers of trauma-informed mindfulness, Jewish ashkenazi prayer and listening-sharing practices, facilitating ancestral connection, further inquiry into Not Knowing and the human heart-mind. He is a third generation survivor, his grandparents - survivors from Poland and Hungary.
